Optipower and Optifuel update

Dear Valued Customers,

I’m pleased to inform you that fuel availability has significantly improved. While some Model Technics lines are still in production, we expect to fulfil all outstanding orders by Wednesday.

As many of you know, I have taken over the management of Optifuel, Optipower, and Modeltechnics to return the business to profitability. We have successfully consolidated our warehousing, which, along with other changes outlined below, will help us ensure long-term sustainability and profitability.

Essential Changes for UK Customers – Effective 1st June 2025

• The free carriage threshold for fuel orders will be increased to £500. For orders containing batteries only, the threshold will remain at £300. Orders under these thresholds will incur a carriage charge, rising from £12.99 to £21.99.
• Delivery postcodes that usually incur a shipping surcharge (e.g., Highlands/Islands) will continue to have an additional surcharge applied. This surcharge will be calculated per order, depending on order size and location, and communicated at the time of order. The courier sets the surcharge, which will be passed on to customers with no additional markup from us.
• Lead times will typically be 2-3 days. While many orders will arrive sooner, we cannot guarantee quicker delivery and do not offer a drop shipping service.

The Ultraguard Range will be streamlined, and we will only offer the following lines.

OPRUS2S Ultra Guard Unit
OPR US2S-L Ultra Guard Unit + LED Combo
OPR LED-K Ultra Guard LED Indicator
OPR BG001 Optipower BEC Guard

Spare batteries will still be available at the exact cost but will not come in a blister pack, just the usual battery cardboard box.

Transition to the OptiFuel brand.

We will offer a streamlined range of fuels under the Optifuel brand and make obsolete the Technics range of models*. EU Distributors will not be affected.

These fuels have an identical formulation within the Optifuel range. They are similar in composition, oil content, and oil type. By aligning these fuels with the Opti brand, we can minimize the manufacturing complexity and keep full availability of the identical Opti-branded fuel. These are ordered in low volumes and are disruptive to fit into our production schedule on an ad hoc basis.

These fuels have an identical formulation, including composition, oil content, and oil type, ensuring consistent performance and quality.

This change will allow us to better serve you by offering the same reliable, high-performance fuel with a more efficient production process.

Other blends are ordered so infrequently that they are uneconomic to supply. However, we can advise which Optifuel blend would best suit your needs.

Additionally, we will no longer supply raw methanol or oils—only finished fuels will be available.

To simplify the ordering process and ensure alignment with our ISO 9001 accreditation, we will now only accept orders placed via our website or email, provided a formal purchase order with all necessary details is attached.
